Model Citizens
I took my first few pictures in this style in about 2016, inspired by Slinkachu‘s book ‘Little People In The City’. He’s a master at using tiny plastic people, adapting them, painting them, and placing them in an urban setting. I’m far lazier, setting my dramas and dioramas at home using ready painted figures bought from eBay.
The models are OO/HO scale, so only about 2cm tall standing up. Some of the little props are under 5mm so arranging everything requires patience and tweezers. Keeping things in place is done with Pritt glue in miniscule amounts.
Often the moulding and painting of these commercial figures is quite crude, so a certain amount of post production is needed to smooth out the lumps and correct the paint splashes, not to mention hiding the Pritt glue on tiny feet.
