Fault Finding

Still Trying...

..for that elusive hole in one.

The golfer has been in my collection of figures for a while, waiting for the right idea to present itself. This week I was at a webinar presented by David Gilliver who also photographs model figures and he’d used ‘hundreds and thousands’ aka ‘nonpareils’ to represent golf balls on a driving range. That lit the spark for this guy to be photographed ‘Still Trying For That Elusive Hole In One’.

Rather than stack this to bring the whole image into sharpness, I’ve used the fall-off of focus to suggest distance, and to make the golfer and his paraphernalia the focal point of the picture so that the joke resolves itself (I hope) more slowly.
